Hello Wharton Tigers! My name is Paige Soza and I am one of the Assistant Principals at Wharton Elementary. I began my teaching career at Sivells Elementary where I taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Victoria and my Master's in Education Administration from Lamar University. I was Assistant Principal at Sivells Elementary last year and am excited to start my second year in administration at Wharton Elementary!Outside of school I love to spend time with my family (my husband and our two daughters). We love to go camping at Splashway, have weekly game nights on Fridays, and my girls love to help me bake.I am so excited to be a part of the Wharton Elementary family! Together, we will!
I’m excited to be back at Wharton Elementary School as one of the Assistant Principals this year! I am originally from Nigeria where I was a middle and high school educator for several years. On relocating to the USA, I taught 5th and 4th grades at a Christian private school and later became an Assistant Administrator in 2001-2002.
I joined the public school in Galveston ISD and taught 2nd Grade for three years, then 6th through 8th Grades for four years, and finally at Ball High School for seven years. I held several leadership roles as Departmental Chair, District ELA Lead Teacher, New Teacher Mentor, ELA Academic Coach, and obtained my Masters in Educational Leadership with a Principal certificate.
I am married to Olatunji Oduwole and we are blessed with two lovely adult children-Mosun and Wande. I am a firm believer in home-school support in bringing out the best and ensuring the success of all our children. This year will be GREAT!
