Recently, I accepted the role of Wharton Elementary School Principal. I have been a public school servant for over three decades. Spending 24 years in Administration as a Curriculum Specialist, Elementary Assistant Principal, Elementary and Secondary Principal, as well as, District Administrator. While in WISD I have served as the Interim Principal for both Wharton Jr. High and Wharton Elementary School. Additionally, I have held the following positions; the Director of Professional Development, Director of New Teacher Development and the District Coordinator of School Improvement in Wharton Independent School District. I have led the way for improvement of teacher development and student achievement in all of the school districts I have served in. I have been fiscally responsible for budget and employee management at every leadership level; and I have been innovative with the implementation of district initiatives that maximized learning opportunities for all campus and district stakeholders including students.
My leadership style is inclusive and comprehensive, involving all stakeholders while maximizing their strengths. I am an avid believer that teamwork involves accessing everyone’s strengths and focusing those abilities towards a common targeted set of goals.
