Greetings!

I am your very proud Principal, Ahmad R. Traylor. I am extremely honored to serve the students, parents, and community of Wharton, Texas. I am a native of East Texas and grew up in Pittsburg, Texas. I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a Minor in Special Education. In 2006, I received my M.Ed. in Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University. I have twenty years in education and began my career as a Special Education teacher and Coach in the Aldine Independent School District. In addition, I have served in various leadership roles, such as Department Chair, Parent Liaison, and Assistant Principal.

I am an advocate of providing students with a first-class educational experience and keeping our kids safe. On our quest for greatness at Wharton Junior High, I understand that building positive relationships with our families is the key to success. It is very rewarding to know the work you’re doing each day is molding our youth into productive citizens. I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife, Kappelle Traylor, and our two kids, Kayson and Kinsley. I am excited about the school year ahead and look forward to working with each of you!
