Ms. Venitra Senegal

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Wharton ISD

Venitra Senegal is the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. As a servant leader of Wharton ISD, she comes to you with twenty-four years of experience in the field of education, eleven of those years in academic leadership.

She has experience as an elementary teacher, interventionist, instructional coach, early childhood principal/instructional officer and assistant principal. She found her work as an Instructional Officer/Principal very rewarding for the past four years because it provided her the unique opportunity to design and open a successful early childhood program in two of the highest needs communities that have had a significant growth in student’s performance.

She is a native Houstonian who received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in the area of Interdisciplinary Studies at Prairie View A & M University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston- Clearlake.

Venitra Senegal is a wife and a mother of three who understands the need for a strong foundation at the early stages of a child's school life and the impact it has on the success of our children and future.

Her passion in curriculum and instruction is grounded in providing an innovative learning experience that develops and builds social emotional and academic foundational skills in our youngest learners. She looks forward to offering an experience that promotes community collaboration and ignites a love for learning in our students. It is her belief that a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy provides all children the opportunity to grow beyond what they can imagine!
