Degrees and Certifications:

Lauren Janke

Hello!  My name is Lauren Janke. I am a fourth grade Reading, writing, and Social Studies teacher at Wharton Elementary. This is my seventh year as a teacher and my fourth as a fourth-grade teacher. I attended Sam Houston State Univesity and got my Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

My contact information for WISD is ljanke@whartonisd.net and (979)-532-6883. If you have any concerns or want to set up a conference, please e-mail me at my school e-mail or call the front desk and we can set up a meeting.

Also, our classroom was a lucky one this year. We got fifty chapter books donated to our classroom! I’m doing a challenge with all three classes called the WALL OF BOOKS. In this challenge, the students have to read a set number of books to win their prize. If the students read 10 out of 50 books, they will receive a water bottle with their names vinyl on it. Once the students read 20 out of 50 books, I will let them choose a chapter book of their liking (under $10) and they will receive their favorite snack and drink (school appropriate). The students are excited to read this book and seeing the excitement on their faces is what every Reading teacher wants to see!
